Currency and exchange rates
How display currency and conversion work.
You shop, bid, and make offers in your account currency. Comparison and settlement use the platform reference currency. Display conversion uses the current daily rate; the rate used when money actually moves is recorded with the transaction.
Auction bids are converted into the listing currency before they count. A bid that lands below the starting price after that conversion is rejected.
Account currency cannot change while money is in progress. Active listings do not block the change: existing listings stay in the old currency, and new listings use the new one. An open payout also blocks the change — free-plan sellers can wait until the payout threshold or the automatic sweep payout shown on the seller payouts page before they can switch.
